This is one of my favorite paintings. The scene is from the Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens. This majestic palm has since sunk into the lake.

Two flamingos stand together at the waters edge. Across the lake, other flamingos go about their happy day. The sky has a hint of a brief, warm tropical rain that will wash the gardens fresh.

This scene was inspired by the peacefulness of the flamingos in their garden paradise. The fully mature pygmy date palms are incredible here. This painting is part of a suite of four works.

The old Parrot Jungle Gardens in Coral Gables Miami area were lush and full of tropical life. I was fortunate enough to be able to visit these beautiful gardens before they relocated.
