Hand Painted ChandeliersFloravita's elegant hand painted chandeliers first start with tin rolled glass that is cut and slumped in a kiln. She then paints with brushes on the inside of the glass with special paints that work with the surface of the glass. Jenny Floravita then adorns her hand painted chandeliers with her custom and elegant hand forged irons.
Custom Commissions for Floravita's Reverse Painted Glass Chandeliers
Jenny Floravita welcomes commissions. Many of her reverse painted chandeliers are created as custom pieces. You choose the size and colors and Jenny will work with you to choose flowers and birds that are meaningful to you. She has created over 100 custom pieces in the last two years.
Fine Oil Paintings
Floravita
creates her tropical oil paintings on canvas that is wrapped and then
painted around the edge. In the industry, this is called "gallery
wrapped canvas" and her oils do not need to be framed as the painting
continues around the edges of the canvas. She uses fine oil paints that
are professional grade.
Her larger oil
paintings are preceded by smaller studies, many of which are done on
location.
Fine Watercolors
Floravita's watercolor
paintings are mostly painted on Arches watercolor paper and she has been
painting in watercolor since childhood. She first stretches her paper
and then uses a combination of pouring, wet-into-wet and dry brush to
achieve her lush watercolors.
She also sometimes uses a special watercolor board, which she refers to
as 'fresco' watercolor.
